Fashion Tips for Petite and Curvy Women

In the fashion world, women are considered petite if they are below 5 feet 4 inches in height. Shorter women sometimes have a difficult time finding clothes that fit properly. Furthermore, a woman who is both petite and curvy is faced with more clothes shopping challenges. Solutions do exist, however.
Shopping Tips for Petite Women
Petite women need to deal with the length of pants and skirts, which is often not a consideration for taller women. Although petite sections exist in some clothing stores, even those sections may not have suitable clothing available. A petite woman who is several inches below five feet tall will not be able to wear the same clothing as someone who is several inches above five feet. In these cases,  important to buy clothes that fit well and consider having them altered for length.
Finding the Right Length
One of the challenges for petite women is that overly long skirts or pants that cut off at the calf can actually make them look shorter. In this case, s best to find a skirt that cuts off right at the knee or just below it and to wear shoes with enough of a heel. Pants should not end at the ankle. For petite women, a pair of pants that covers footwear will actually lengthen the appearance.
Accentuating the Curves
Some curvy women tend to hide their bodies. An extra long t-shirt or a dress that is cut in a uniform width from top to bottom is likely to create an unattractive image. Curvy women are better off accentuating their curves. Clothes should not be too tight or too loose. A belt to highlight the waist is usually helpful for bringing out a natural curves.
