London Bird

Selected by Paul Smith for his store opening in Claridge’s Hotel, London Bird has received support from major companies including American Apparel, American Express, Arts&Business, Centre for Fashion Enterprise, English National Ballet, Fashion TV, and the Walpole Group.
London Bird has just been short-listed for Walpole’s Luxury ‘Brands of Tomorrow’ 2011.
“My designs are based on London’s architecture and due to their large scale, all manufacturers said the same thing… they’re too big, you’ll never be able to produce them due to the price of precious metals and their weight. Knowing that there is a solution to every problem - I researched and travelled extensively and finally found a vendor in Italy who could customize each element, using a technology usually reserved for the fabrication of micro and nano scale metallic device (like computer chips), to make them almost hollow - thus maintaining the integrity of my designs and realizing my vision!  This technique which permits the creation of jewellery with flowing undercuts and shapes impossible to achieve with stamping has been the most exciting discovery. A plating process which allows me to play with the colour of the precious metals has taken my designs into uncharted territory….my favorite place to be!”
All pieces are either .925 silver or 18ct. yellow gold.
